Swimming Stages

Aqua Play
Recommended Age: 6 months – 3 years
Overview:

Aqua Play is designed to introduce young children to the water in a safe and supportive environment. This class emphasizes water familiarity and comfort, incorporating basic water skills with the active involvement of a parent or guardian. All activities are parent-assisted to promote confidence and enjoyment in the water.

Kinder Level
Recommended Age: 4 – 6 years (age recommendations are flexible and based on individual skill level)
Overview:
Kinder Level builds upon the foundational skills taught in Aqua Play, with a focus on independent swimming. Participants should be comfortable in the water without parental assistance. Most instruction takes place in our Junior Pool, with a fun opportunity to experience the shallow end of the Lap Pool on the final day.

Level 1
Recommended Age: 7 – 8 years (age recommendations are flexible and based on individual skill level)
Overview:
Level 1 introduces swimmers to rhythmic breathing and deep water exploration. Children should already be comfortable submerging their face and holding their breath. This level lays the groundwork for stroke development and water safety.

Level 2

Recommended Age: 8 years and up (age recommendations are flexible and based on individual skill level)
Overview:
Level 2 focuses on building endurance and refining swim techniques in deeper water. Students will practice extended distances in both crawl stroke and backstroke, as well as learn treading water and introductory diving skills. Participants should be able to swim crawl stroke and backstroke for short distances prior to enrolling.

Let us know your swimmer’s stage when registering to place them in the appropriate class.
